BYE, BYE LOS ANGELES...

Hello for the last time from Los Angeles!

Today Daniel and Miss Fung took me to the magic kingdom, the happiest place on earth, the home of Mickey Mouse... in other words, DISNEYLAND! It was cloudy when we got there, but the sun came out later.  Daniel had wanted to go to ride the Indiana Jones ride.  He is tall enough now and wanted to try it out.  It was scary and I closed my eyes most of the time.  Here are some pictures and video from our day.  It was a nice way to end my visit to Los Angeles.  I look forward to going back home again to Holly.

See you in a few days,
Flat Holly

Here we are at the entrance of Disneyland.
That's Sleeping Beauty's castle behind me!
There's a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.
Daniel wants to be Indiana Jones!

Aladdin and Jasmine!

This is the center of Disneyland.
We are going to help Buzz Lightyear fight bad guys!

It's Pluto!

WEDDING!

Hey Ms. Bratton's Class!

Today I went to a wedding in Palos Verde! It's a really nice little town near the coast. It took Miss Fung and her friends almost an hour to get there.  Here are some pictures from my first wedding!  Tomorrow is my last day and Miss Fung said that I could spend it with her and Daniel. It's Mother's Day, so I am hoping that Daniel does something really nice and fun for his mommy.

See you soon,
Flat Holly

PS: Ethan and the other kids were very excited that they would get their own Flat Stanleys soon!

This pretty lady is Mrs. Mc. She teaches 3rd grade and she just got married to the guy next to her! She's very happy!
Here is the bride and groom. The groom is a coordinator at Miss Fung's school and the bride use to be the kindergarten TA, but she left, so we are sad... but happy that she got married to such a great guy! Isn't her dress pretty!
Here I am posing with the wonderful teachers + a new husband and baby!
I wanted some cake, but was told I had to wait until the bride and groom were ready to cut it. By that time I had fallen asleep. It looked delicious.

This is Ms. D. She likes to dance and she is a lot of fun!  I want to be like her when I grow up!

Ice Cream!!!

After our visit to the Natural History Museum, Miss Fung bought us each an ice cream from the ice cream cart. There was a man just standing there with all kinds of ice cream! We each got to choose one. I am sharing a rainbow pop with my friend Haley.  It was kind of a goodbye present. The class is sending me back this weekend and all said their goodbyes. I think ice cream is a good way to end my visit, don't you?

See you real soon,
Flat Holly

A Visit to the Natural History Museum!

Dear Ms. Bratton's Class,

I got to go with the boys and girls to the Natural History Museum today. (www.nhm.org) We went to the Discovery Center to explore things. We saw animals, rocks, and even got to dig up dinosaur bones too! The students are collecting rocks for the science fair next week, so we went to look at the rock collection at the museum. Here are some pictures and video from my day there.

Love,
Flat Holly

Can you see the dinosaurs behind us? There is a T-Rex and a Stegosaurus.

Here are some rocks and minerals. Aitza is showing them to me.

A grizzly bear!!! Ugh!
Did you know that you can hear the ocean in a shell???
There is a clown fish like Nemo in the tank behind me!

Extreme Creatures!

Hello Boys and Girls,

Today we made extreme creatures with Dr. Gretchen for the California Science Center. We learned that animals adapt to their environment. Here are some pictures of the activity.

Love,
Flat Holly

Here I am helping Haley and Miko with their extreme creatures.
Ashley shows off her creature.
And then we made Mother's Day books.

FRIDAY IN ROOM 3

Hello Ms. Bratton's Class and Holly!

It's finally Friday! Miss Fung loves Fridays!  We had a busy day today. The students did observations on potatoes. They made bubble maps to describe potatoes and conducted surveys using tree maps to find out what was their favorite ways to eat potatoes.  The best part was that we made baked french fried potatoes! They were yummy!  Miss Fung said she would send me back home next week. She wanted the boys and girls to have time to say goodbye. They have been really nice to me. Today Ethan asked if he could make a flat Holly, but a boy one instead of a girl. Could you ask Ms. Bratton to send Room 3 the pattern so they can all make flat Stanleys? Well it's time to go.
See you soon!
Love,
Flat Holly
Drawing and writing with the girls. Justin drew a picture of me today for his potato bubble map. I didn't think I looked like a potato!

Those were some yummy baked fries!
